Rose Water
A Persian household is incomplete without the presence of rose water. The scent is an instant reminder of home and the New Year. Known for its fragrance, rose water is often used in deserts, providing a subtle aroma to sweets. That said, a substantial part of Nowruz is food and the accompanying food culture. On the actual day of Nowruz, it is imperative that you eat something sweet, and more often than not, whatever desert you choose will contain hints of rose.
A two-piece set, meant to be a visual depiction of rose water, expresses the celebratory aspects of Nowruz. This set includes bouquets of small, hand cut and sewn organza flowers, cascading down the bodice and skirt to give an organic element, to an otherwise structured garment.
